Company Hierarchy

Outsprint supports parent-child relationships between companies. This is useful for tracking subsidiaries, regional offices, or divisions within a larger organization.

Company hierarchy

How It Works

Each company can have:

  • One parent company -- The organization it belongs to
  • Multiple child companies -- Subsidiaries or divisions

The hierarchy is one level deep: a parent can have children, but children cannot have their own children.

Setting Up Hierarchy

When creating or editing a company, use the Parent company field to search for and select an existing company.

You
Set Acme Europe as a subsidiary of Acme Holdings
Outsprint AI
Acme Europe is now a subsidiary of Acme Holdings.

Viewing Hierarchy

In the company detail view, the Parent / Child panel shows:

  • The parent company (clickable link)
  • All subsidiaries (clickable links)

Click any company name to navigate to that record.

Reporting Across Subsidiaries

You can ask the AI for aggregated data across a company hierarchy:

You
Show me total revenue across all Acme subsidiaries
Outsprint AI
Across Acme Holdings and its 2 subsidiaries (Acme Europe, Acme APAC), there are 5 active deals totaling $340,000.

Note

The hierarchy is flat (one parent level). For complex multi-level organizational structures, use tags or custom properties to categorize companies.
