Cloning Deals

Clone a deal to quickly create a copy when you have a similar opportunity. This saves time when multiple deals follow the same pattern.

Cloning deals

How to Clone

You
Clone the Acme Enterprise deal
Outsprint AI
Created a copy of "Acme Corp Enterprise". The new deal starts at the first pipeline stage.

You can also click the more menu (three dots) on a deal card and select Clone.

What Gets Copied

When you clone a deal:

  • Name -- Copied with "(Copy)" appended. You can rename it.
  • Amount -- Same value as the original
  • Pipeline -- Same pipeline
  • Stage -- Reset to the first stage in the pipeline
  • Probability -- Reset to match the first stage
  • Company and contacts -- Same associations preserved
  • Owner -- Defaults to you
  • Custom properties -- Copied from the original

What Does Not Copy

  • Stage history -- The cloned deal starts fresh
  • Timeline and activities -- No activities carry over
  • Close date -- Not set (you define a new one)
  • Actual close date -- Not set

When to Clone

Cloning is useful when:

  • A customer wants to purchase again (renewal or expansion)
  • You have multiple opportunities at the same company
  • A lost deal comes back as a new opportunity
You
Clone the Acme Enterprise deal and rename it to "Acme Enterprise Renewal"
Outsprint AI
Created "Acme Enterprise Renewal" with the same details. Stage reset to Prospecting.

Pro Tip

After cloning, update the amount and close date for the new deal. The stage resets to the beginning so you can track the new opportunity through the full pipeline.
