Campaign Targeting

Choose the right audience for your campaign by selecting lists and applying exclusions.

Campaign targeting

Select a Recipient List

Every campaign targets a contact list. You can use either static or dynamic lists:

  • Static lists -- A fixed group of contacts you manually curated
  • Dynamic lists -- Auto-updating lists based on filter criteria (e.g., all contacts with lifecycle stage "SQL")

In the campaign builder, select your list from the Send to dropdown. Outsprint shows the current count of contacts in the list.

Exclude Contacts

Add an exclusion list to remove specific contacts from the send. Common exclusion lists include:

  • Contacts who already received a similar campaign
  • Contacts currently in an active sales sequence
  • VIP contacts who should receive a different version

Automatic Exclusions

Outsprint automatically excludes these contacts even if they are on the target list:

  • Contacts with email opt-out enabled
  • Contacts with no valid email address
  • Contacts already on the exclusion list

The campaign builder shows the estimated recipient count after all exclusions are applied.

How many people will receive the February newsletter?
Outsprint AI
The Newsletter Subscribers list has 890 contacts. After removing opt-outs and invalid emails, 847 contacts will receive the campaign.

Sending Domain Setup

Campaigns are sent from a verified domain, not your personal email. To set up a sending domain:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Sending Domains
  2. Click Add Domain and enter your domain (e.g., mail.yourcompany.com)
  3. Add the provided DNS records (DKIM, SPF, DMARC) to your domain settings
  4. Wait for verification (usually a few minutes)

Once verified, the domain appears in the campaign builder's From email dropdown.

Note

A default sending domain (noreply@yourcompany.gooutsprint.com) is available immediately. Setting up a custom domain improves deliverability and brand recognition.
