Sequence management

Sequence Status

Every sequence has one of four statuses:

Status Description
Draft Being built, not sending emails
Active Running and sending emails to enrolled contacts
Paused Temporarily stopped; enrolled contacts remain but no emails are sent
Archived No longer in use; hidden from the active list

Activate a Sequence

Before a sequence can send emails, it must be activated:

  1. Open the sequence
  2. Review all steps and settings
  3. Click Activate

Once active, enrolled contacts begin receiving emails according to the schedule.

Pause and Resume

To temporarily stop a sequence without losing enrolled contacts:

You
Pause the Enterprise Outreach sequence
Outsprint AI
Enterprise Outreach has been paused. 47 active enrollments are on hold until you resume.

Resume the sequence to pick up where each contact left off.

Edit a Sequence

You can edit a sequence at any time. Changes to email content or delays apply to future sends only -- contacts who already passed a step are not affected.

To edit:

  1. Open the sequence
  2. Click Edit on any step to modify it
  3. Add or remove steps as needed
  4. Click Save

Warning

Editing an active sequence affects future emails only. Contacts who already received a step will not receive the updated version.

Auto-Unenroll Triggers

Contacts are automatically removed from a sequence when:

  • They reply to any email in the sequence
  • An email bounces
  • They unsubscribe
  • They are manually unenrolled by a team member
  • The contact record is deleted

Permissions

  • Admins and Managers can create, edit, activate, and manage sequences
  • Members can enroll contacts in existing sequences if they have edit access to contacts
  • The enrolling user must have a connected email account
