Email Threading¶
Outsprint groups related emails into threads, giving you the full conversation history with a contact in one view.
How Threading Works¶
Emails are grouped into threads using your email provider's thread ID. When you send an email and receive a reply, both messages appear in the same thread. This includes:
- Original messages
- Replies and reply-all messages
- Forwarded messages in the same thread
Viewing a Thread¶
Click any email on a contact's timeline to expand the full thread. Messages appear in chronological order with the newest at the bottom.
Each message in the thread shows:
- Sender and recipient -- Who sent it and to whom
- Timestamp -- When it was sent
- Message body -- The full email content
- Attachments -- Any files attached to that message
- Tracking status -- Whether the email was opened or clicked (for outbound emails with tracking enabled)
Reply, Reply All, and Forward¶
At the bottom of any thread, you have three options:
- Reply -- Respond to the sender only
- Reply All -- Respond to all recipients
- Forward -- Send the thread to a new recipient
You can also reply through chat:
Threads on the Timeline¶
Email threads appear as single entries on the contact timeline. The entry shows the thread subject and the most recent message. Click to expand and see all messages in the thread.
Pro Tip
Ask Outsprint to summarize a long email thread. Say something like "Summarize my email thread with Sarah about the proposal."
