Email Tracking

Outsprint tracks when recipients open your emails and click links, so you know exactly when a prospect engages with your message.

Email tracking indicators

How Open Tracking Works

When you send an email with open tracking enabled, Outsprint inserts a tiny invisible image (a tracking pixel) into the email. When the recipient opens the email and their email client loads images, the pixel fires and records the open.

Outsprint tracks:

  • First open time -- When the recipient first opened the email
  • Open count -- How many times the email was opened

How Click Tracking Works

When click tracking is enabled, links in your email are routed through Outsprint's redirect service. When the recipient clicks a link, the click is recorded and they are instantly redirected to the original URL.

Outsprint tracks:

  • First click time -- When the recipient first clicked a link
  • Click count -- Total number of clicks
  • Which links -- The specific URLs that were clicked

Tracking Indicators

On sent emails, you see tracking status at a glance:

  • Sent -- Email delivered, not yet opened
  • Opened -- Recipient opened the email (with open count and timestamp)
  • Clicked -- Recipient clicked a link (with click count)

Enable or Disable Tracking

You can control tracking at two levels:

Per email -- Toggle tracking on or off in the compose form before sending.

Default setting -- Go to Settings > Email Connections to set your default tracking preference for all outbound emails.

Note

Open tracking relies on image loading. If the recipient's email client blocks images by default, the open may not be recorded.

Tracking in Chat

Ask Outsprint about email engagement at any time.

You
Did Sarah open my last email?
Outsprint AI
Yes, Sarah opened your email about the proposal 3 times. The first open was yesterday at 2:15 PM.

Pro Tip

Tracking data helps you time follow-ups. If a prospect has opened your email multiple times, it may be a good moment to reach out.

Privacy

  • Tracking URLs contain only a random identifier -- no personal information
  • Open and click data is visible only to your team
  • Recipients are not notified that tracking is active
