The activity timeline shows a chronological history of every interaction with a contact, company, deal, or ticket.

What Appears on the Timeline

The timeline merges all activity types into one unified view:

Activity type Description
Calls Logged phone calls with duration and outcome
Meetings Logged meetings with duration
Emails Synced and sent emails from Gmail/Outlook
Notes Notes added to the record
Tasks Completed tasks
Stage changes Deal or ticket stage transitions
Form submissions Completed form entries
List changes Added to or removed from lists
Workflow events Actions triggered by workflows

Each entry shows an icon (by type), title, description snippet, author, and relative timestamp.

Log a call, meeting, or other activity from chat or from the record's detail view.

Activity Form Fields

  • Type -- Call, Meeting, Email (manual log), or Other
  • Subject -- Brief description
  • Notes -- Detailed notes about the interaction
  • Date/time -- When the activity occurred
  • Duration -- For calls and meetings
  • Outcome -- For calls: Connected, Left voicemail, No answer, etc.
  • Associations -- Link to one or more contacts, companies, deals, or tickets

Filter the Timeline

Use the filter bar above the timeline to show specific activity types:

All | Calls | Emails | Meetings | Notes | Tasks | Changes

Timeline and Contact Activity

Logging activities automatically updates the contact's last_activity and last_contacted timestamps. This keeps your CRM data current for filtering and reporting.

Pro Tip

Log activities immediately after calls and meetings while the details are fresh. Outsprint makes it fast with natural language logging.
