Creating Tasks

Create tasks through natural language in the chat, with the /new task command, or from any record's detail view.

New task form

Create via Chat

Tell Outsprint what you need to do, and it creates the task for you.

You
Remind me to follow up with Sarah on Friday at 2pm
Outsprint AI
Created task "Follow up with Sarah Chen" due Friday at 2:00 PM. I've linked it to Sarah's contact record.

Outsprint understands natural language dates and times, associates the task with the right contact, and infers the task type from context.

More examples:

  • "I need to send the Acme proposal by end of week" -- Creates a task linked to the Acme deal
  • "Create a task for Mike to review the contract" -- Creates a task assigned to Mike

Create via Form

Use /new task to open the full task form:

  1. Enter the subject (what needs to be done)
  2. Add optional details with notes or context
  3. Set the due date and optional time
  4. Choose the priority (Low, Medium, or High)
  5. Assign to a team member (defaults to you)
  6. Link to a record (contact, company, deal, or ticket)
  7. Set an optional reminder (at time, 15 min before, 1 hour before, 1 day before)
  8. Configure recurrence if the task repeats
  9. Click Create Task

Recurring Tasks

Set a task to repeat on a schedule:

  • Daily -- Every day
  • Weekly -- Same day each week
  • Monthly -- Same date each month
  • Custom -- Define your own interval

When you complete a recurring task, the next occurrence is automatically created with the updated due date.

Create from a Record

On any contact, company, deal, or ticket detail view, click Add Task to create a task pre-linked to that record.

Pro Tip

Use reminders for time-sensitive tasks. Outsprint sends a notification before the due time so you never miss a follow-up.
